Sunday Mornings

9:30 AM - Room 103 - Understanding Islam, Pastor Knutson
This study will review the history of Islam and detail some of the basic beliefs of ths religion. We will also compare the Christian religion to Islam in areas of belief in God, creation, man, salvation and the end times. The ultimate purpose of the course is to help us understand Muslims since they are becoming a larger portion of the population around the world including the United States. Since many of us have or will interface with Muslims it is imperative that we understand where they are coming from so that we may introduce Christianity through the "touch points" we have in common.

ll:00 AM - Library - Book of Ephesians, Shane Floyd
This will be a continuation of an inductive Bible study of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. The primary purpose of the course is to examine what Paul has to say to us about the mystery of the church. Paul sees the church as God's instrument in the world and one that replaces the Temple being a building of people grounded in the revelation of what God has done in human history. As such the church becomes a beacon of light in a dark world. Another desired outcome of this shtdy will be to equip us as Christians with basic to intermediate skills to be able to study the Bible in more depth on our own.

11:00 AM -Room 103 - Inductive Bible Study, Rick Kipp
The process of inductive Bible study helps an individual to see the word as it is, understand what it is saying, and to apply it to his or her life. The class describes this process as "Observation, Interpretation, and Application." Morris Proctor uses the terms, "Reading the Text, Kneading the Text, and Heeding the Text." Inductive Bible study is about taking time, undertaking effort, and applying some simple tools to try to understand what God is trying to teach us through the Bible itself before going to scholars and teachers to find out what they think. Ths class has just completed the book of 1 Peter and will going back to the book of Genesis. We will be starting with the character of Jacob. Come and be ready to knead the text with others in this highly interactive class.

11 :00 AM - Rooms 102 A&B Real Life Lessons from the Sermon on the Mount Karl Hubach and Don Randall
This is guaranteed to be a study of self examination and a challenge to our way of living and thinlung, as we seek to grow in our faith and understanding of God's Word. We will study the words of our Lord and see a description of what Christians are meant to be. We will see how to apply Jesus' teaching in our daily struggle to live a life like Christ.

Tuesday Mornings Studies

Ladies Studies Beginning. Tuesday, September 11th:

Child care provided 10:00 AM-11:30 AM Room 103
Conversations with Jesus by Simon Kistemaker Joanne Arneberg, Leader
There are times when I wish I could have been with Jesus as he walked his last three years of His human existence; talking to people and telling them about the gift that was available to them if they would repent and believe. However, now is my time and yours to learn about Him. So, come with me and be a fly on the wall as we wander in and out of conversations that Jesus had with women during those last three years of His life.  Our outline will be Kistemaker's book but we will dig deeply into the Scriptures.

10-11:30 AM - Library
Let's Study I1 Corinthians by Derek Prime Jane Gill, leader
Here is the beauty and strength of a Godly woman. This book contrasts the true woman with the new (worldly) woman, and examines the standard and virtues of the true woman by looking at her awareness of God's presence, her willingness to be shaped and driven by God's Word and Spirit. We will be challenged to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and to form or deepen our relationships with one another (family, church, etc.) so that we are encouraged in our hearts and united in love.

7:00 AM Library (ongoing)
